How does the treatment work?

The treatments work by emitting a controlled heat source to the hair, which is then selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair. This then creates heat which damages the growth and the follicle. After several treatments the subsequent damage to the hair follicle results in a significant reduction in the hair growth.
Is the treatment painful?
The treatment process is gentle, non invasive and requires no anaesthetics. Most people feel nothing more than a slight warmth or tingling sensation.
How many treatments will I need?
Many factors influence hair growth: age, ethnicity, weight, metabolism and hormones all play a part in where and when hair grows. Following your in-depth consultation and patch test, your IPL specialist will advise you of realistic expectations. As a general average, 6-12 treatments are required
